I'm Jerry H. Brown, Ph.D. My service, J. H. Brown Scientific Editing, is focused on helping scientists improve the quality of manuscripts that are being prepared for publication. I personally edit all manuscripts to correct problems in grammar, improve writing style, and, when this is called for, help reorganize and/or shorten the manuscript. This service is offered for a broad range of articles in many scientific disciplines.

In addition, I aim to help the author communicate the science as accurately and consistently as possible, and will read the manuscript with as keen an eye as the most exacting referee. Such “pre-refereeing” is offered for work involving molecular and structural biology as well as related fields.

I have over 20 years of experience in scientific research. I have published my results in technical and high-impact research journals, as well as in popular magazines, and I have often served as a referee. This experience has been extremely useful in helping colleagues improve the quality of their manuscripts. In addition, I have experience as both a reviewer and successful applicant for grants, and am available to edit proposals for funding.
